It’s The Season Of Giving And This Caribbean American Organization Needs Your Help

Brooklyn, New York, November 18, 2019:It’s another year and another Christmas that the Caribbean American Center of New York, (CACNY), has committed to providing new toys and clothing to 1,000 children in New York City’s Homeless Shelters and others in our Community. Except this year, the organization did not anticipate the US’ trade war with China and the closure of Toys R’ Us would become a Scrooge they would have to battle.
This makes the group’s Caribbean Holiday Party on Dec. 7th even more important, according to co-founder and Executive Director, Jean P. Alexander. For the first time in 21 years, CACNY will sponsor a special Holiday Event Fundraiser at BKLYN Commons at 495 Flatbush Avenue, 2nd Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11225, from 9 pm to 2 am to raise funds to ensure they can purchase needed clothes and toys for this purpose.
Since 1998, CACNY has presented over 38,000 gift bags of new clothes & toys to needy children. This year, the Center needs your help.
Alexander mentioned that 100 percent of the proceeds from this year’s holiday fundraiser will have to go towards its FREE Youth Programs and buying toys and clothing to pack into 1,000 gift bags the group expect to prepare for hundreds of children who live in NYC’s Homeless Shelters and other children in need.
CACNY’s website says it provides multi-services to under-served minority youth to enhance their quality of life by providing and/or facilitating adequate access to economic, educational (STEM & SAT Tutoring), training, employment, immigration/citizenship, civic involvement, youth leadership development and other issues.
